  1. I am against violence, and it is a mystery to me that not more people are concerned with the toxic behaviour of hurricanes in our community. Sometimes we need to think about what kind of example we set for our children, and what kind of world we leave behind for them.what happens when the victim is your husband, brother or son? It's easy to forget that these are real people we're talking about, with emotions just like us. By denying this very real issue, aren't we denying ourselves peace of mind as we leave this world? Can we really stand proud as the responsibility of our generation slips through our fingers, simply because we refuse to acknowledge its existence?

I say no, I say we stay and fight. This so called Hurricane thinks it can drive us out of our homes, but what if we stand up for ourselves and say no?

Update: apparently a hurricane is a sort of weather thing, and my home is now destroyed. I had two cars, one is wrecked, and there's not a trace of the other. Moving to Canada tomorrow.

  2. Oh my GOOOD!!!

We are sitting here in Thailand three days after the tsunami stroked. We are waiting for the bus to pick us up to take us to the airport.

We have now gotten in touch with our families who have been really worried for us. The last few days have been the worst days of our lives. The nightmares are terrible and often we wake up screaming and are reliving it all over again.

It all happened so fast. One second we were shopping and the next we were running for our lives. First we didn’t know why all people were running but short afterwards, we heard about the wave. Over 225.000 people lost their lives in this terrible act of Mother Nature. Everything feels so surreal.

Since Thailand is so poor, the consequences were devastating. Many people are now homeless and have lost their families.

We feel so lucky to have Sweden to come home to, where everything is like it always has been. However, we will never be the same and Thailand will definitely never be the same. We wonder if we will ever be able to go back. One thing is for sure, right now our thoughts go to the people still living there.

  3. A lone Polar Bear stands atop the icy cliffs and that he has called home since his first dawn. His name is Benedict. As Benedict surveys his chilling neighborhood, his heart soars with happiness, for he would not want to live anywhere else.

One morning when the rays of the sun bounced upon the crystal ice like abstract ping pong balls, Benedict was awakened by a sound like thunder. When he stormed out of his lair he was most surprised to find the plot of ice next to his own drifting away on the ocean, to the south, carrying his uncle Bernard with it.

"No bother", thought Benedict, "my plot of ice won't give way so easily."
So Benedict remained in his whole, convinced that nothing would dislodge him from his place in the world.

The following morning, Benedict awoke by the sound of water. As he opened his eyes, a small drop of cool, clear water splashed as it fell on his black nose. Benedict looked up and observed the ceiling of his home, and suddenly it was as the heavens had opened, a hail of water poured upon him.

"No bother", thought Benedict, “the ceiling has always been there, I am sure it will hold. “Besides, a shower is always nice.”
So Benedict, without a care in the world, closed his eyes and was carried away to his dreams by the soothing sound of the water.

When Benedict awoke, it was not by the sound of a soothing stream of water. He woke by the sound of the roaring waves of the sea. He rushed to the door of his home and looked outside, and the sight brought him to his knees. For outside were no longer his neighborhood nor his friends, but the black cold ocean and a setting sun.

  4. We gonna chose rising sea level for our blog. In 50 years time will the Earth have a different weather than now its gonna be warmer and dryer. The sea is higher and people wich live on islands will has no place to live. In Fiji lives 3 millions persons. They will have no homes if the sea level rise.
